Dirk Dingfelder (D+H Mechatronic) is the new Chairman of the Executive Board of the ZVEI-Fachverband Sicherheit. Thomas Quante (Bosch Security Systems) and Alexander Yeomans (Siemens) were also elected as deputies at the general meeting. Further board members are Dr. Sebastian Festag (Hekatron), Wolfgang Pein (TOA Electronics Europe) and Frank Wienböker (Kingspan Light + Air STG-Beikirch).
The Executive Board will concentrate on the strategic orientation of the professional association. "Exciting years lie ahead for the German safety technology industry. Networking and digitalization are both challenges and opportunities," says Dingfelder. "In order for the market for security technology to continue to grow steadily, the issue of cyber security for the products, systems and services used in value-added networks must be given greater focus. Smart home and smart building are becoming reality. Here, cyber security is of central importance alongside convenience, energy efficiency and security. Users must be able to rely on the fact that digital technologies are secure and trustworthy. This is the only way to create new services and business models that will hold their own in the market."
